Like many 1950's suburban developments, this house had an un-insulated porch spanning between the garage and the two story colonial house. This dilapidated and drafty structure was removed. A more modern addition was infilled; to include a new foundation and building enclosure- achieving an open floor plan connected with the adjacent kitchen.
The exposed southern yellow pine load bearing rafters create a vaulted ceiling. Custom shelving and cabinets fill the space. Stone tile with radiant heat and new fireplace add warmth.
